Greenville ISD board to consider superintendent's contract

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Independent School District Board of Trustees is scheduled this week to consider the contract of Superintendent Don Jefferies.

The board will conduct Jefferies’ annual evaluation and vote on his contract during Tuesday’s regular session, starting at 6 p.m. in the Wesley Martin Administration Building, 4004 Moulton Street.

The agenda for the meeting includes a closed session under Texas Government Code Section 551.071, allowing for a consultation with the board’s attorney on all subjects or matter authorized by law, including legal advice regarding personnel issues. There is also a closed session scheduled under Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; specifically Jefferies’s evaluation and contract.

Both the evaluation and the contract are also scheduled as action items on Tuesday’s agenda.

Should the board take any action regarding any of the items considered under the closed session, it would return to open session to do to.
