Identity of deceased woman released

GREENVILLE — The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office has revealed the name of a woman who was found deceased north of Greenville Friday.

A cause of death has not yet been determined for Marybeth Montero, 55, of Greenville, according to Lt. Nathan Ehrhart.

Montero had been reported missing Thursday.

Ehrhart said the incident was being classified as an “undetermined death” as of Saturday night, pending the release of autopsy results.

Montero’s body was discovered in a drainage ditch on State Highway 34 about 5 miles north of Greenville. Utility workers discovered the body around noon Friday and contacted the sheriff’s office.

Justice of the Peace Wayne Money pronounced Montero deceased and ordered the body to be taken to the medical examiner office on Dallas.

Her name had not been released until next of kin had been notified Saturday.

The Texas Rangers are reported to be assisting our the sheriff’s  Criminal Investigation Division with the investigation.
