Cash Fire Department hosting barbecue this weekend

GREENVILLE — A two-day smoky fire is expected in the Cash area south of Greenville this weekend.

But instead of knocking down the flames, firefighters intend to use them to cook up lunch and dinner for anyone who may be hungry.

The Cash Fire Department is hosting its second annual barbecue supper Friday and Saturday, at the fire station, 4745 State Highway 34 South.

The firefighters plan to offer a selection of brisket, pork ribs, sausage and all the fixings between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. both days, or until the food runs out. Meals will be available for a donation per plate.
