Police make intoxication assault arrest

GREENVILLE — A local man has been charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle, in connection with a Sunday evening traffic accident in Greenville.

Adam Truett Woodruff, 21, of Greenville, was taken into custody by officers with the Greenville Police Department, after being contacted at the scene of an accident. Woodruff remained in custody at the Hunt County Jail Monday morning. No additional details were immediately available.

Officers were dispatched to 225 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night, took 13 people into custody and filed 39 reports.

The arrests also included four people each for theft and outstanding warrants, two people for public intoxication and one person each for assault causing bodily injury/family violence and driving while license suspended/invalid.

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 81 calls, took 10 people into custody and filed 15 reports.

The arrests included seven people for outstanding warrants and one person each for injury to a child, engaging in organized crime and possession of a controlled substance.
