Showers, storms likely

Thunderstorms are expected to cross the region early Wednesday morning and, while they are expected to be pretty strong, forecasters say severe weather is not likely in Hunt County.

It will be another windy day, which may increase the danger of out of control grass fires and any rains which do arrive will be welcome, as Hunt County remains listed under severe drought conditions, with a much colder day in store for Wednesday.

The National Weather Service forecast was calling for a high near 76 degrees this afternoon, with winds out of the south gusting as high as 30 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely after 1 a.m. Wednesday, as a cold front closes in. As of Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service said thunderstorms are possible across the entire North Texas area.

Severe weather was said to be likely as far east as Collin and Dallas counties overnight, with a low of around 57 degrees.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely again Wednesday morning, with a temperature falling throughout the day to around 53 degrees, and winds gusting out of the north at up to 25 mph.

It will be chilly Wednesday night, with another slight chance of showers and thunderstorms and a low around 37 degrees and with winds out of the north gusting as high as 25 mph.
