Hunting Easter eggs, rain or shine

GREENVILLE — There could be a few showers in the area this morning, but kids will be able to hunt Easter eggs in Greenville today, rain or shine.

There are at least four community Easter egg hunts scheduled in Hunt County this morning.

— The annual Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the City of Greenville, is scheduled for this morning on the softball fields inside the Greenville SportsPark at the corner of Sayle Street and Kari Lane/Leo Hackney Boulevard.

The event begins at 9 a.m. with free spring pictures by Walgreens, free egg hunting bags from the Hunt Regional Medical Center and opportunities for children to meet the Easter Bunny.

There will be four separate hunts; one at 10 a.m. for children up to 3 years old; and three more starting at 10:15 a.m., each on a different field, for children 4 and 5 years old, for children ages 6 to 8 years old and for children 9 to 11 years old.

— The North Baptist Church in Greenville is hosting a free Easter egg hunt at Graham Park starting at 9 a.m. today.

— The Kiwanis Club of Wolfe City is hosting the annual Easter egg hunt, for ages 1 to 12, starting at 1 p.m. today at the city park. Prizes will be awarded during the event.

— The East Tawakoni Police Department is hosting the city’s annual Easter egg hunt at the Civic Center, starting at 10 a.m. today. Children are asked to bring their own baskets.

The National Weather Service was calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning, and then another chance after 1 p.m. today, with a high near 78.
