GREENVILLE — It was 81 degrees in Greenville Tuesday afternoon, at the same time there was a winter weather advisory in place for areas northwest of DFW.

Big changes are coming to the local weather outlook, starting with strong storms overnight, much cooler temperatures Wednesday and a low near freezing by early Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service forecast is calling for showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Wednesday, with a low around 58 and winds out of the south at up to 30 mph.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue until 1 p.m. Wednesday, with temperatures dropping to 52 by 2 p.m. and a north northwest wind at up to 30 mph.
It is forecast be partly cloudy Wednesday night, with a low around 34 degrees before dawn Thursday ande winds out of the north at up to 20 mph.
As of 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, now severe weather watches had been posted for the immediate area.
