GREENVILLE — Statement just issued by Greenville Police Department:
A Greenville resident is being sought in connection with a burglary of a habitation that occurred in Van Zandt County on January 31, 2013, where weapons were stolen.
The Greenville Police Department is looking for Brandon Cole Thompson, a white male, 24 years of age, 5’8”, 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Thompson may be wearing blue jeans, and a gray and black zip-up hoodie.
The burglary in Van Zandt County was interrupted by the homeowner, who then traveled to Greenville to confront the suspect at the suspect’s residence in the 2300 block of Rabb Street. It was believed that the suspect barricaded himself in the home.
Sometime later, officers with the Greenville Police Department detained and interviewed another person in connection with this incident. That person was interviewed and released.
Officers with the Greenville Police Department and the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office secured the area around the home where the suspect was believed to be barricaded. The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office began the process of obtaining a probable cause arrest warrant on the burglary
charge and the Greenville Police Department began the process of obtaining a search warrant for the residence on Rabb Street.
A search warrant was served at the residence. The suspect was not located. A criminal investigation is being conducted to obtain evidence from the home at this time.
