Greenville teenager killed in one-vehicle accident

GREENVILLE — A local teenager was killed Tuesday evening in a one-vehicle accident in far south Greenville.

The Greenville Police Department reported a 1994 Ford Mustang driven by Jason Aaron Buhrmann of Greenville was traveling northbound in the 10800 block of Old Mill Road, at a rate of speed above the posted limit, at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle left the roadway, traveled across two residential yards, crossed a dry creek, and struck a house.

The victim, Tawniee Gilcrest, 17, of Greenville, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered major trauma. She was transported by air ambulance to Parkland Hospital and later died. The Greenville Police Department is continuing its investigation of the accident.
