Two in custody in connection with shots fired incident

GREENVILLE — Two local residents are facing felony counts after they were taken into custody Thursday following a report of shots fired on Walworth Worth Street in Greenville.

Christopher Stephen Martin and Kathryn Deseray Alsvig, both of Greenville, remained in custody Friday afternoon in the Hunt County Jail.

Martin, 31, was being held on three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of disorderly conduct-abusive language, with a total of $75,500 bond.

Alsvig was being held on one count of hindering the apprehension/prosecution of a known felon with a $2,000 bond set.

Both Martin and Alsvig were arrested by the Greenville Police Department in the 1200 block of Walworth Street Thursday afternoon.

According to a report from the police department officers responded at approximately 10:52 a.m. Thursday to a call of shots fired at 1204 Walworth and detained two individuals believed to be involved in the incident.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the address and members of the Emergency Response Unit’s Crisis Intervention Unit were successful in getting a third person to exit the residence prior to execution of the warrant.

The police department’s tactical unit executed the search warrant, which resulted in the recovery of several firearms and the detention of a fourth individual.

The status of the charges, if any, against the two other individuals detained at the scene was unavailable Friday.

The weapons possession charges and the hindering apprehension charge are third degree felonies, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from two to 10 years in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.

The disorderly conduct charge is a Class C misdemeanor.
