A&M-C's Miller featured in Dallas exhibition April 28 - May 2

COMMERCE — Texas A&M University-Commerce art faculty Michael Miller will be included in a photography exhibition featuring 44 of North Texas' most prominent artists.

The exhibition will be on display from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, through Saturday, May 2, at the CADD Art Lab in Dallas.

"Texas Artist Portraits, Part 1" by photographer James Bland will open with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 30.

"It's a great honor to be included with such a prominent group of established, Texas based artists who work in a variety of media," Miller said. "These artists live in Texas, but their careers extend far beyond the borders of the state, many with national and international recognition.

In March, Bland visited the A&M-Commerce faculty member's home and studio in Commerce and spent about five hours photographing him. "This was much harder than I thought it was going to be," Miller said. "I have a new found respect for fashion models."

Six of Bland's portraits are in the April edition of "D Magazine" and the March/April issue of "D Home." All of the portraits from all the regions will be published in a book to be released later this year.

CADD is located in downtown Dallas between Neiman Marcus and the Joule Hotel at 1608-C Main St.
