GREENVILLE —   The Lucas Lovejoy Lady Leopards hit three home runs in a 15-1 victory over the Greenville Lady Lions in District 13-4A softball at Monty Stratton Field on Friday.

Lovejoy starting pitcher Brittany Lewis no-hit the Lady Lions while striking out six and walking two.

Lovejoy scored four more runs in the second as Danielle Brochu and Stephanie Cunningham walked, followed by a two-run Katie Curry single. Ginger Hervey then hit a two-run inside-the-park home run, making it 7-0 Lady Leopards.

Lovejoy stretched its lead to 10-0 in the third, before scoring five more in the top of the fifth inning. Cunningham singled in the fifth, followed by a Curry walk and a Hervey triple, scoring Cunningham and Curry. Lewis then slugged a three-run home run.

Arian Alford scored scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth for Greenville.

Greenville travels to Wylie on Tuesday for a 11:30 a.m. junior varsity game and a 1 p.m. varsity contest.

We competed very well today and kept our confidence even though we lost 15-1.  Lovejoy is a tough team.”

Greenville is now 3-12-1 for the season.
