PARIS, Texas —
Maddy Crabtree scored four goals to power the Greenville Lady Lions to a 6-1 District 19-4A soccer victory over North Lamar on Saturday.
The Lady Lions won big though they were missing three starters on spring break trips.
“I was actually pretty nervous going in,” said Lady Lions coach Caree McKethan. “I wasn’t sure how the girls would respond. They stepped up to the plate and they played awesome.”
Crabtree also recorded an assist as the Texas Tech signee upped her season totals to 29 goals and five assists.
Priscilla Carrillo and Nectali Hernandez also scored for the Lady Lions. Carrillo, who also had an assist, upped her season totals to 15 goals and 13 assists. She has signed with Paris College for soccer. It was Hernandez’s first varsity goal.
Audrey Espino went the distance at goalkeeper.
Greenville recorded 16 shots on goal as the Lady Lions improved to 12-8-1 for the season and 6-1 in district play.
The Lady Lions’ next game is at home on March 19 against Princeton, starting at 6 p.m.
Greenville’s junior varsity lost to the North Lamar JV, 4-0.
