No. 14 state-ranked Caddo Mills opened the volleyball playoffs with a 25-11, 25-19, 25-14 Class 2A bi-district victory over Whitewright.
“I thought we played very well,” said Caddo Mills coach Renae Whitaker.
Whitaker said the Lady Foxes stayed calm and “played very well together as a team.”
Hallie Smith and Kathleen Steinhoff both put away eight kills to lead the Lady Foxes and Kristin Newell finished with seven kills.
Setter Natalee Wright recorded 24 assists.
Bailey Miley and Makenna Tallant both led the defense with 11 digs. Steinhoff had 10 digs and Wright finished with eight.
Caddo Mills, now 33-5 for the season, heads to the area round to play 26-13 Maypearl, which won its bi-district match over Paradise. The match is planned for Saturday at The Colony.
