Lucas Lovejoy sweeps cross country events

ALLEN — Lucas Lovejoy swept all four titles at the District 13-3A cross country meet on Monday at Celebration Park.

Lovejoy captured the varsity boys team title with 17 points, the varsity girls with 25 points, the junior varsity boys with 15 and the junior varsity girls with 15.

Lovejoy runners also finished first in all four races.

Kinsey Berry of Lovejoy claimed the varsity girls two-mile race in 13 minutes, 11 seconds. Becky Forbus of Farmersville was second at 13:16, Jenna Locklear of Loyevoy was third (13:20) and Torie Talkington of Rains wound up fourth (13:20.).

Jake Hervey of Lovejoy won the varsity boys threemile race in a photo finish with teammate Conner Day, both with times of 16:07.

Farmersville freshman Luke Scribner was sixth at 17:56.
