Lady Foxes close out district play with win

CADDO MILLS — The No. 23 state-ranked Caddo Mills Lady Foxes closed out the regular volleyball season with a 25-21, 28-26, 25-17 victory over Grand Saline on Tuesday night.

The playoff-bound Lady Foxes improved to 29-11 for the season and 8-2 in District 13-2A.

Senior Breann Whitaker had a big match for Caddo Mills in her final home appearance, putting away 12 kills to go with 19 assists, two aces and 13 digs.

Hannah Horton was next in kills for Caddo Mills with 10, while Devon Buck had six kills, Bre Fritschow three, Sydney Beasley and Kayce Bullock both finished with two.

Horton was next in assists for Caddo Mills with six, while Bullock and Jordan Hammack both added two assists.

Rhyn Smith topped Caddo Mills with 28 digs, while Horton managed 12, Kortni Barnes had 10, Fritschow nine, Nikki Flowers seven, Buck six, Beasley five, Hammack five, Hannah Hopkins four and Bullock four.

Horton and Fritschow both served for two aces.

The Caddo Mills junior varsity prevailed, 25-14, 25-8.

Caddo Mills’ freshmen won, 25-11, 25-13.

Caddo Mills is scheduled to play next at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Kaufman against either Malakoff or Scurry-Rosser.
