Lone Oak, Cumby win volleyball matches

LONE OAK — Lone Oak’s Lady Buffs took care of volleyball business quickly on Tuesday night, sweeping Van, 25-15, 25-19, 25-14.
Jessi Holt led Lone Oak with 10 digs and also served for four points.
Brooke Hinson served for six points and had two kills, two assists and two digs.
Ashton Hale set for eight assists, plus added seven digs and 10 points.
Rachel Hammons chipped in three digs.
Chelsey Lyday led Lone Oak with 10 blocks and had four points and three digs.
Lindsey Patton added two kills and a block.
Alyson Hicks served for a team-high 15 points and two aces for Lone Oak and added five kills, three blocks and five digs.
Melanie Brand served for six points and put away four kills.
Erica Caughlin also added a dig for Lone Oak.
Lone Oak claimed the junior varsity match, 25-20, 25-18.
Lone Oak also took the freshman contest, 25-10, 25-23.
COMO — Cumby upped its season volleyball record to 15-5 with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-14 victory over Como-Pickton on Tuesday night.
Savanah Neal served for nine points and two aces for Cumby and also had six kills and nine assists.
Laura Oviedo served for 10 points and had six kills and Kailee Sartin served for nine points.
Brittany Seely led in assists with eight and had three kills.
Ashley Anderson served for eight points and Demi Newsom added four points and two aces.
Valerie Partridge and Rebecca Prather both served for two points for Cumby.
Seely and Anderson both managed three digs.
Cumby plays again at Boles at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Cumby claimed the junior varsity match, 14-25, 25-11, 25-23 and the freshman contest, 23-25, 25-13, 25-20.
