CADDO MILLS In the battle for Highway 6 bragging rights, Caddo Mills Foxes picked up 321 yards rushing and six touchdowns on 26 carries from Nathan Jeffery to beat the Community Braves 52-26 on Friday night.

Community opened the game with the ball and made a first down before the Braves had to punt the ball away. The Foxes took possession at their own 32 and Jeffery took off into the middle of the line and broke to his right for 68 yards and the first touchdown of the night. Keegan Block added the PAT and Caddo Mills was on top 7-0 with 9:38 left in the first quarter.

The Caddo Mills defense forced the Braves to turn the ball over on downs, taking over at the Braves 41-yard line. On the Foxes’ second offensive play of the night, Jeffery hit the right side of the defense for a 41-yard touchdown run, putting Caddo Mills up 14-0 after Block's PAT.

Community was forced to punt on its next series. Caddo Mills then began a 12-play drive mixing in the pass and run with Jeffery capping it off with an 11-yard burst up the middle for his third TD of the night with 11:54 remaining in the second quarter.

Community responded with a seven-play drive before having to punt the ball away. Seven plays later the Braves Ty Griffin jumped on a loose fumble at their own 39-yard line to halt a Fox drive.

The Braves' quarterback, Collin Strahan, took to the air waves to move his team to the Caddo Mills 34 before having a fourth down pass fall incomplete.

Caddo Mills then had Jeffery taking the direct snap for gains of 13 and a 5 yards before Jeffery threw deep over the middle into traffic. Rance Thornton ran under the tipped pigskin and set sail for a 48-yard touchdown, putting Caddo Mills up 28-0 after another Brock PAT.

Community responded in two plays with tailback Tim Underwood splitting a seam up the middle of the Fox defense for 83 yards and paydirt. Brad Moore added the PAT to bring the Braves back to 28-7 with 44 seconds left in the first half.

However, Caddo Mills and Jeffery were not finished as Jeffery went over the right side of his line and then cut back left for a 62-yard touchdown run with 29 seconds to go in the half and a 35-7 lead.

The Foxes misplayed the second half kickoff and were in a hole at their own 4-yard line.

The Community defensive squad held Jeffery to no gain on two carries before Tay Davis picked off a Tre Couvillion pass at the 20 and returned it to the 9-yard line.

The Braves quarterback Strahan found Griffin in the left flat for an 8-yard touchdown. Strahan added the PAT to close the gap to 35-14 at the 9:42 mark of the third quarter.

Caddo Mills put together a five-play drive that ended with Jeffery breaking off a 49-yard run for his fifth touchdown of the night and a 42-14 Fox lead.

On Community's next possession, Davis coughed up the ball after a big hit. Caddo Mills linebacker Ryan Turney scooped up the bouncing ball at the 30 and returned it to the Braves 8-yard line.

The Brave defense stiffened and forced a 22 yard field goal by Keegan Block to give Caddo a 45-14 lead with 4:12 left in the third quarter.

The Foxes forced another fumble which led to a 63-yard, six-play drive for Jeffery's sixth touchdown of the night, a 1-yard run with 33 seconds left in the third quarter. Block's seventh PAT of the night put Caddo Mills up 52-14.

The Braves refused to play dead and took over the fourth quarter. Strahan found his range and hit on five passes before he took off on an 8-yard touchdown run making the score 52-20.

Community then forced a Caddo Mills punt and Strahan hit passes of 16 yards and 41 yards to give the Braves a first and goal. Tailback Underwood powered over from five yards for the game’s final touchdown.
