Lone Oak 38, Clarksville 0

CLARKSVILLE – The Lone Oak Buffaloes were in Clarksville on Friday night to take on a team that was still riding high from their thrilling three-overtime victory over Linden-Kildare the week before.

The thrill was soon gone as Lone Oak rolled to a 38-0 victory to stay undefeated for the season at 2-0.

Lone Oak's Code Red defense forced turnovers on Clarksville's first five possessions.

Boles 33, Scurry-Rosser 14

QUINLAN — No. 3 state-ranked Boles cruised to a 33-14 victory over Scurry-Rosser in the Hornets’ home opener at Kevin Kiper Memorial Stadium on Friday night.

The visiting Wildcats got things started in the first quarter as Rydge Patton raced 23 yards to paydirt with 6:06 left in the first quarter. Blaise Brown kicked the extra point and Scurry-Rosser led 7-0.

But the Hornets answered quickly behind the passing of Kailob Wallace, who hit Hatchel for a 17-yard gain. Hatchel and Lane Sutton ran for gains of eight and 25 yards before Wallace threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Hatchel. Andy Allen missed the PAT and Boles was still behind 7-6.

Leonard 50, Celeste 0

LEONARD — Leonard celebrated its homecoming Friday night in style, amassing 508 total yards of offense against the Celeste Blue Devils in a 50-0 victory.

Will Cowan led the charge once again for the Tigers with 201 yards rushing on 13 carries and three touchdowns. He also passed for 91 yards. Reggie Robinson rushed eight times for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Atlanta 27, Royse City 26

ATLANTA, Texas — It came down to a two-point conversion: Atlanta held, and Royse City took the road back home with a 27-26 loss to the Rabbits during Friday’s season opener for the Bulldogs.

Royse City threatened first in the first quarter, but missed the 33-yard field goal attempt.

Prosper 27, Farmersville 0

PROSPER — The Fightin’ Farmers of Farmersville met their match and then some in the defending Class 3A state champion Prosper Eagles, who prevailed 27-0 on Friday night.

Prosper, ranked No. 9 in Class 3A, stayed undefeated at 2-0. Farmersville dropped to 1-1.

Brian Hardy and Juan Williams led a formidable ground attack behind a rebuilt offensive line, amassing nearly 250 yards between them.

Crandall 9, Commerce 6

COMMERCE — On a Friday night when the scoreboard wasn't operational for the second half, Crandall found power in a little 5-3 freshman kicker near the end of the game.

Trevor Dykema booted a 28-yard field goal to give the Pirates a 9-6 victory.

Commerce lost though senior Jurase Brown ran for 221 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown scamper, and also intercepted three passes.
