New director named at PJC-Greenville

GREENVILLE — A new director has been named for the Paris Junior College-Greenville Center.

Effective Oct. 1, Scott Edwards replaced John Spradling, who was promoted to Vice President of Workforce Education, as director of the Greenville campus.

Edwards was named director of the campus during the regular meeting of the PJC Board of Regents on Sept. 28. Prior to the promotion, Edwards served as an academic/financial aid advisor at the Greenville center, a position he held since 2004.

“I have tremendous experience in many areas of higher education to put to work for the PJC Greenville Center,” said Edwards. “My family has lived and been active in the Greenville community for nearly a decade, and I take great pride in make this center the best it can be to serve the people of Hunt County.”

Edwards has a Master of Arts in interdisciplinary studies and a Bachelors of Science in education from West Texas A&M. Prior to his employment with PJC,

“Scott’s experience at various colleges, his time working at the PJC Greenville campus, and his knowledge of the students attending the Greenville campus will serve him and the college well as he steps into this administrative position,” said PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin during the Sept. 28 meeting.

Edwards is excited about his new job and support staff.

“I’ve been with PJC for five years and am excited to work with the faculty, students and community in a new role,” said Edwards. “I have just been settling in to the new responsibilities these past few days and everybody has been most helpful.”
