Air conditioning unit, other thefts reported in county

GREENVILLE — It was probably a lot warmer than usual in one Waco Bay area home this week, after somebody reportedly stole its central air conditioning unit.

It was just one of several thefts and burglaries reported to the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office during the past few days.

The loss of the central air conditioner was reported Sunday to gave occurred at a home on Perch Street between 3 p.m. June 20 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

A theft was reported to have occurred on County Road 1133 between noon and 4 p.m. Sunday.

A 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 2400 between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:15 a.m. Monday.

A burglary was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 2182 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday.

A generator and 11 spools of wire were reported stolen from a game room on Highway 276 East between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Debit card abuse was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 3535 between 8 a.m. June 29, 2008 and 7 a.m. Wednesday.

An ice box, oven, sinks and wiring were reported stolen from a residence on Berkshire between noon Jan. 3, 2008 and 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Gasoline was reported stolen from a residence on Flower Street near Wills Point between 10 p.m. Monday and 4 p.m. Wednesday.

An assault was reported to have occurred on County Road 1121 between noon and 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 97 calls Wednesday, took seven people into custody and filed 21 reports.

Of those taken into custody, six people were arrested on outstanding warrants and one person was arrested for driving while intoxicated.



Courts

District Court

— Jacob Hunter Stafford, 27, Royse City, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of burglary and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation with 30 days in the Hunt County Jail, $100 restitution, 120 hours of community service and a $200 fine.

— Billie Floyd Lambert, 56, Powderly, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of felony DWI and was placed on 10 years of probation, with 90 days in the Hunt County Jail, 120 hours of community service and a $500 fine.

— Curtis Edwin Wilson, 43, Neylandville, entered pleas of guilty to two counts of felony theft, had a probation for felony theft revoked, and was sentenced to six months in a state jail.

— Jose Maria Rosa, 29, Terrell, had probation on a charge of felony theft revoked and was sentenced to six months in a state jail.

— Timothy Wayne Johnson, 25, Greenville, had probation on a charge of felony theft revoked and was sentenced to six months in a state jail.

— Curtis Wayne Bell, 26, Quinlan, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of sexual assault of a child and was placed on 10 years of deferred adjudication probation with 60 days in the Hunt County Jail.

— Preston Wayne Tucker, 29, Duncanville, had probation on a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity revoked and was sentenced to five years in prison.

— Wanda Kay Moore, 41, Greenville, had probation on a charge of bail jumping/failure to appear revoked and was sentenced to three years in prison.
