Multiple alcohol-related arrests made in city

While many people may have gotten into the spirit of Halloween this past weekend, the Greenville Police Department made several arrests of those who allegedly got into two many spirits.

Officers were dispatched to 286 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night, filed 61 reports and made 14 arrests.

Of those people taken into custody, four people were arrested for public intoxication and two for driving while intoxicated. Five people were arrested on outstanding warrants and one person each for no driver’s license, theft, and assault causing bodily injury/family violence.

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of injury to a disabled individual/family violence on Highway 11 between 10:54 p.m. Thursday and 12:01 a.m. Friday.

An assault causing bodily injury/family violence was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 3127 between 8 and 8:16 a.m. Sunday.

An English Bull Dog was reported stolen from a residence on FM 2874 between 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.

A chain saw, a television and a VCR were reported stolen during a burglary of a residence on Brinwood Drive between 5 p.m. Friday and noon Sunday.

District Court

— Larry Orlando Clark, 53, Houston, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of attempted possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 63 days in the Hunt County Jail.
