Police officers make five arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 77 calls Wednesday, took five people into custody and filed 20 reports.

Of those taken into custody, four people were arrested for outstanding warrants and one person for failure to identify/driving while license suspended or invalid.



Courts

District Court

— Nicholas Austin Walker, 25, Flint, Mich. forfeited bond on a charge of possession of marijuana. A warrant was ordered for Walker’s arrest and new bond was denied.

— Michael Eugene Lawson of Greenville, entered pleas of guilty to one count each of felony theft and possession of a controlled substance and was placed on five years of probation with 100 hours of community service.

— Howard Carlton Key, 56, Emory, had probation for taking a prohibited substance into a correctional facility revoked and was sentenced to three years in prison.



County Court-at-Law No. 1

— In State of Texas v. Zachary Ryan Day, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport. The defendant was sentenced to 250 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Hector Omar Perez, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Criminal Trespass. The defendant was sentenced to 200 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Rosalinda DeLeon Perez, the defendant’s probation for Bail Jumping was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Donald Dwight Roach, the defendant’s probation for Possession of Marijuana was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 150 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Simeter Sorim, the defendant’s probation for Driving While Intoxicated was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 100 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Glenda Marie Denson, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving While License Invalid. The defendant was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Alma Jean Jarvis, the defendant’s probation for Theft of Property was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
