Police officers make multiple arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department spent the first work day of the week making arrests for family violence and burglary, among other charges.

Officers were dispatched to 87 calls Monday, took four people into custody and filed 17 reports.

Of those taken into custody, one person each was arrested for assault/family violence, burglary of a building, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.





Courts

District Court

— Truett Lee McGarity, 50, Commerce, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of attempted possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to four days in the Hunt County Jail.

— Jacob Angelo Alcaraz, 30, Dallas, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of felony DWI and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

— Sasha Diane Shaw, 21, Wichita, Kan., entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to five years in prison.
