Deputies investigate multiple burglary, theft reports

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office have had their hands full during the past few days, responding to multiple reports of burglaries and thefts across the county.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made more than a dozen arrests during the past weekend.

An unknown number of copper coils were reported stolen from a business on Highway 34 between 11 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 a.m. Friday.

A Mitsubishi 3000 was reported stolen from a business on Highway 276 West between 5 and 7 a.m. Saturday.

A burglary of a building was reported to have occurred on Highway 276 between 2 and 5 a.m. Saturday.

Fishing equipment and two DVD players were reported stolen during a burglary on Highway 276 between 2 and 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

A scooter, bicycle, linens and socks were reported stolen during a burglary on FM 513 between 8 a.m. Oct. 7 and 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

A burglary of a building was reported to have occurred on Highway 276 between 2 and 5 a.m. Saturday.

A theft was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 2712 between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 242 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night, took 13 people into custody and filed 47 reports.

Of those people taken into custody, 10 were arrested on outstanding warrants and one person each for driving while license suspended, theft and possession of a controlled substance.



Courts

County Court-at-Law No. 2

— Juan Manuel Guerrero entered a plea of guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury/family violence and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Ira Stacey Valenzuela had probation a charge of driving while intoxicated with previous conviction or suspension revoked and was sentenced to 20 days in jail.

— Charlie Hankins entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $500 fine.

— William Kolby Redding entered a plea of guilty to a charge of criminal mischief and was placed on 24 months of probation with an $800 fine.
