Man arrested on multiple drug charges
A local man was arrested by the Greenville Police Department on multiple drug-related charges Wednesday night, one of seven people taken into custody.
Officers were dispatched to 79 calls and filed six reports Wednesday.
Among those taken into custody, a 49-year-old Greenville man was arrested at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, all within a Drug Free Zone. The individual remained in custody at the Hunt County Jail Thursday morning.
Other arrests Wednesday included three people for outstanding warrants, and one person each for resisting arrest, assault/family violence and public intoxication.
Courts
District Court
— Gregory Allen Howard, 46, El Dorado, Ark., entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on 10 years of deferred adjudication probation with a $1,000 fine and 100 hours of community service.
— Donald Ray Youngman II, 22, Celeste, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of forgery and was sentenced to 180 days in the Hunt County Jail.
— Icle Dunn Mapps, 33, Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation with 120 hours of community service and a $750 fine.
— Scott Lee Lemon, 31, Quinlan, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle and was sentenced to six months in a state jail.
— Alfred Eugene Smith Jr., 39, Point, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on three years of deferred adjudication probation with a $300 fine and 120 hours of community service.
— Angel Lopez Lopez, 17, Memphis, Tenn., forfeited bond on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. A warrant was ordered for Lopez’s arrest and new bond was not set.
— Larry Michael Mata, 20, Greenville, forfeited bond on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. A warrant was ordered for Mata’s arrest and new bond was not set.
Hunt County Court-at-Law No. 2
— Stephanie Gayle McCasland entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated and was placed on 18 months of probation with a $750 fine.
— Vern Allen Gerstner entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with a $100 fine.
