Officers make three arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 88 calls Monday, took three people into custody and filed 19 reports.

Of those people taken into custody, one person each was arrested for public intoxication, theft and outstanding warrants.



Courts

District Court

— Samuel Johnson French, 56, entered pleas of guilty to two charges of theft of a firearm and one count of felony theft and was sentenced to one year in a state jail.

— Johnny Walton Burns, 53, Cumby, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of failure to stop and render aid and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation, with 100 hours of community service, a $500 fine and 30 days in the Hunt County Jail.

— Sedrick Lee Matthews, 37, Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury with previous conviction and was sentenced to four years in prison.



County Court-at-Law No. 2

— Johnny Walton Burns entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 75 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Brandon Keith Fisher entered a plea of guilty to a charge of criminal mischief and was sentenced to 75 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— John Anthony Lara entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 14 months of probation with a $500 fine.

— Leslie Michelle Dixon Vann entered a plea of guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury/family violence and was sentenced to three days in jail with a $100 fine.
