Officers make three warrant arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 86 calls Monday, took three people into custody — all for outstanding warrants — and filed 19 reports.



Courts

District Court

— Christopher Michael Knox, 32, Campbell, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of forgery and was sentenced to 273 days in a state jail. Knox also had probation on a charge of fraudulent use of identifying information revoked and was sentenced to 365 days in a state jail.

— Kelli Ann Vanwinkle, 22, Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of securing the execution of a document by deception and was placed on one year of deferred adjudication probation with 120 hours of community service and $1,836 in restitution.

— Danny Joe Brown Jr., 22, Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of felony theft and was sentenced to 545 days in a state jail. Brown also had probation on a charge of felony theft revoked and was sentenced to two years in a state jail.



County Court-at-Law No. 1

— In State of Texas v. Danny Lee Ray, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Rodney Gene Hyatt, II, the defendant's probation for Driving While Intoxicated was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Matthew Walker, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Lashun Denice Hardeman, the defendant's probation for Driving While Intoxicated was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. William Thompson, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft of Property by Check. The defendant was sentenced to 20 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Dirk Shane Smith, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $650.00 and ordered to pay court costs. The defendant was further ordered to perform 30 hours of community service, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, to complete a DWI educational program, and to attend a victim impact panel.
