Air conditioner units stolen in county
All that rain failed to dampen the level of criminal activity in the City of Greenville during the past weekend.
Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 193 calls between Friday morning and Sunday, took six people into custody and filed 34 reports.
Of those taken into custody, three people were arrested on outstanding warrants and one person each for public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest.
Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an outside air conditioner unit, stolen from a residence on FM 1570 near Greenville, between 3:18 and 5:20 p.m. Friday.
Another outside air conditioner unit, along with a grinder and chop saw, were reported stolen from a residence on County Road 3116 near Lone Oak between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
An assault causing bodily injury was reported to have occurred on West Main in Quinlan between 4:50 and 4:57 p.m. Saturday.
Courts
District Court
— A charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, filed against Jack Anthony Hobbs Jr., 44, Greenville, was dismissed at the request of the complaining witness.
— Arthur Augustine Lombas, 41, Greenville, forfeited bonds on charges of fraudulent use/possession of identifying information and felony theft. Warrants were ordered for Lombas’ arrest and new bonds were not set.
— Chad Eric Ross, 36, Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of evading arrest and was placed on five years of probation with 120 hours of community service and a $500 fine.
— Justin Jermaine Fisher, 22, Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of robbery and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation with 120 hours of community service and was fined $500.
— Paula Sue Lewis, 41, Dallas, had probation on a charge of possession of a controlled substance revoked and was sentenced to six months in a state jail.
— Byron Kyle Jones, 35, Greenville, had probation on a charge of possession of a controlled substance revoked and was sentenced to eight months in a state jail.
— Casey Ray Tiller, 37, Point, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of felony DWI and was placed on six years of probation, with 10 days in the Hunt County Jail with 120 hours of community service.
Court-at-Law No. 1
— In State of Texas v. Timothy Dale Wilkins, the defendant was found guilty of the offense of Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 365 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. David Martinez, the defendant's probation for the offense of Criminal Mischief was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Charlotte Savage, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Failure to Identify/Fugitive from Justice. The defendant was sentenced to 70 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Kayle Demoye Nichols, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Assault Causing Bodily Injury Family Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 45 days in jail.
