Police make aggravated assault arrest

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made an arrest for aggravated assault Thursday night, taking a local woman into custody and also charging her with resisting arrest and assaulting a public servant.

Officers were dispatched to 80 calls Thursday, made six arrests and filed 19 reports.

Of those people taken into custody, a 24-year-old Greenville woman was arrested on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at around 7 p.m. Thursday. The individual remained in custody at the Hunt County Jail as of Friday morning,

Other arrests included two each for public intoxication and outstanding warrants and one for possession of a controlled substance.

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a theft at a residence on Patricia Lane between 9:31 and 9:36 p.m. Thursday.

A vehicle was reported stolen from a gas station on U.S. Highway 380 between 11 and 11:10 p.m. Thursday.



Courts

District Court

— Raymond John Deleon, 40, Zeeland, Mich. had probation on a charge of felony DWI revoked and was sentenced to six years in prison.

— Joseph Wayne Lewis, 30, El Dorado, Ark., entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on 10 years of deferred adjudication probation with 100 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.



County Court-at-Law No. 1

— In State of Texas v. Cody Bryon Mathers, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving While Intoxicated Second offense. The defendant was sentenced to 200 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Torian Ramell Mitchell, the defendant's probation for the offense of Accident Involving Damage to a Vehicle was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Sonia Suzanne Mata, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 127 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Michael Lawrence Okendo, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possessing/Transporting Chemical with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Carlton Bernard Williams, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving While License Invalid. The defendant was sentenced to 100 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. James Pipkin, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft of Property by Check. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Shane Leeth, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft of Property by Check. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Nicholas Worthington, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Bail Jumping and Failure to Appear. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Linda Gayle Finney, the defendant's probation for the offense of Possession of a Dangerous Drug was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 75 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Hortencia Palacios, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft of Property. The defendant was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. James Preston Smith, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Driving While License Invalid. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $200 and ordered to pay court costs.



County Court-at-Law No. 2

— Joshua Ray Wolfe entered a plea of guilty on a speeding appeal and was placed on 90 days of deferred adjudication probation.

— Karli Luise Brumit entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $100 fine.

— Cameron Garrett Clawson entered a plea of guilty to a charge of DWI and was placed on 16 months of probation with a $750 fine.

— Mathew James Copeland II entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $400 fine.

— Sabrina Marie Durham entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $250 fine.

— Nathan Ray Hilty entered a plea of guilty to a charge of obstruct highway passageway and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $250fine.

— Garomy Jeffery Linwood entered pleas of guilty to charges of driving while license suspended and possession of marijuana and was sentenced to 45 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Jeremy Duane Little entered a plea of guilty to a charge of reckless driving and was placed on 6 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $200 fine.

— Micholas Dawayne Love entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Justin Michael Ryan entered a plea of guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury/family violence and was sentenced to 40 days in jail with a $100 fine.

— Mary Alice Kutz entered a plea of guilty to a charge of DWI and was placed on 18 months of probation with a $1,500 fine.

— Michael Shane Powell entered a plea of guilty to a charge of DWIand was placed on 16 months of probation with a $1,000 fine.

— Donaciano Gonzalez Rios entered a plea of guilty to a charge of DWI/Open Alcohol Container and was placed on 24 months of probation with a $1,500 fine.

— Joshua Edward Crutchfield entered a plea of guilty to one count of DWI and had probations on assault causing bodily injury/family violence and possession of marijuana revoked. Crutchfield was sentenced to 90 days in jail on each count and was fined $100.

— Larry Kyle Jester had probations on charges of DWI and possession of marijuana revoked and was sentenced to 60 days in jail on each count.
