Police officers make five arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 61 calls Thursday, took five people into custody and filed 16 reports.
Of those taken into custody, four people were arrested on outstanding warrants and one person was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

County Court-at-Law No. 1
— In State of Texas v. David Brent Crow, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Assault Causing Bodily Injury/ Family Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 200 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. William Mark England, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Evading Arrest or Detention. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Treva Brockway, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft of Property. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Jeffrey Dewayne Brookins, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Noemi Castillo, the defendant's probation for the offense of Possession of Marijuana was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 150 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Brian Tavish Upchurch, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft of Services. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Everett Marshburn, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. George Eddie Carter, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Evading Arrest or Detention. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Juan Francisco Esquivel, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving While License Invalid. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

County Court-at-Law No. 2
— Richard Tyler Phillips entered a plea of guilty to a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $350 fine.
— Georgia Allen Scott was found guilty of a charge of driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with a $100 fine.
