Police officers make 14 arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made 14 arrests Tuesday, with charges including evading arrest, resisting arrest and an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault.

Officers were dispatched to 92 calls and filed 16 reports.

Among the arrests, a 21-year-old local man was taken into custody late Tuesday night on charges of driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and assault against a public servant.

A 49-year-old Greenville woman was taken into custody late Tuesday night on charges of evading arrest, expired driver’s license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Eight people were arrested on outstanding warrants, including a 51-year-old Greenville man who was taken into custody early Tuesday morning on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon which had been issued by another jurisdiction.

Other arrests included one person each for public intoxication, no driver’s license, driving while license suspended and assault/family violence.

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a call of fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, reported Tuesday to have occurred at a residence on County Road 3325 between 8 a.m. Aug. 5 and 10 p.m. Aug. 7.

A theft was reported to have occurred at a residence on FM 1903 at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

— Jeromey Brent Gray, 23, Paris, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation with 120 hours of community service.
