A violent weekend in Hunt County

It was a violent weekend in the county, as deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported aggravated assault and threats by someone carrying a firearm.

Another call involved a reported money laundering incident.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made four arrests during the weekend.

The aggravated assault, in which a firearm was used, was reported to have occurred at a residence on Broken Arrow Pass between 6 and 6:10 a.m. Sunday. There were no details as to the extent of injuries, if any.

A firearm was reportedly used by someone making a terroristic threat at a residence on County Road 1143 between 5 and 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

An assault was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 1124 between 11:30 a.m. and noon Sunday.

Money laundering, in an amount of between $1,500 and $20,000, was reported by a deputy to have occurred on Interstate 30 at 9 a.m. Saturday.

A theft was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 4100 between 8 a.m. Aug. 25 and 2 p.m. Friday.

A theft was reported to have occurred at a residence on County Road 4112 between 12:30 and 8:45 p.m. Friday.

A burglary was reported to have occurred on FM 1571 at 11:11 p.m. Saturday.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 223 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night, took four people into custody and filed 44 reports. Of those people taken into custody, two people were arrested for public intoxication and one person each was arrested for failure to identify and outstanding warrant.

District Court

— Cody Byron Mathers, 26, Greenville, had probation on a charge of evading arrest revoked and was sentenced to 545 days in a state jail.

— Jeffrey W. Gutierrez, 18, Caddo Mills, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on four years of deferred adjudication probation, with a $250 fine and 100 hours of community service.
