Officers make five arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 75 calls Monday, took five people into custody and filed 17 reports.

Of those taken into custody, three people were arrested for outstanding warrants and one each for public intoxication and possession of marijuana.

District Court

— George Eddie Carter, 21, Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of forgery and was sentenced to one year in a state jail.

— Gerardo Monrroy-Pina, 25, Waxahachie, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated with child under 15 years of age and was sentenced to 75 days in the Hunt County Jail.
