Police officers arrest seven during weekend

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made seven arrests during the past weekend, including one for the alleged assault of an elderly individual.

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office reported calls of an assault, theft and marijuana possession during the past few days.

Greenville Police officers were dispatched to 249 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night and filed 49 reports.

A 43-year-old Greenville woman was taken into custody at around 3 p.m. Sunday and charged with injury to an elderly individual causing bodily injury.

Other arrests made during the weekend include three for outstanding warrants, two for driving while intoxicated, and one for public intoxication.

Deputies responded to a report of an assault, occurring at a residence on Highway 11 between 4 and 4:59 a.m. Saturday.

One person was taken into custody at the intersection of FM 2101 and County Road 3502 at around 9:40 p.m. Saturday and was charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.

A wire stretcher was reported stolen from along County Road 4309 between noon and 6:18 p.m. Sunday.



Courts

District Court

— Cody Bryon Mathers, 26, Greenville, had probation on a charge of evading arrest revoked and was sentenced to 365 days in a state jail.

— Jason Ray Bishop of Emory entered a plea of guilty to a charge of burglary and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation with 120 hours of community service and a $500 fine.

Court-at-Law No. 2

— Corey Patrick Chatmon entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving while license invalid with previous conviction and was placed on six months of deferred adjudication probation with a $250 fine.

— Matthew Scott Deaver entered a plea of guilty to a charge of theft by check and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $100 fine.

— Shane Ray Inboden entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and was placed on 12 months of deferred adjudication probation with a $1,000 fine.

— Ronnie Gene Palmer entered a plea of guilty to a charge of theft of property and was placed on six months of deferred adjudication probation with a $100 fine.

— Kira Marie Robinson entered a plea of no contest to a charge of possession of marijuana and was sentenced to 69 days in jail with a $100 fine.
