Family violence assault arrest reported

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made another arrest Thursday for family violence assault, making a total of five people arrested for the offense so far this week.

Police officers were dispatched to 80 calls Thursday, took seven people into custody and filed 21 reports.

Of those taken into custody, a 17-year-old female was arrested at around 1 p.m. Thursday for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.

Three people were arrested for outstanding warrants and one each for failure to report change of address, driving while license suspended and public intoxication.

Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of an assault, at a residence on West Highway 276 at 5:07 p.m. Wednesday.

A burglary was reported to have occurred at a residence on Ervine Lane at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday.

— Randy Michael McCoy, 52, Dike, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of felony DWI and was sentenced to four years in prison.
