Deputies respond to burglaries, assault

A local man was arrested late Tuesday night for allegedly being intoxicated and in violation of his parole, among other charges.
The 30-year-old Greenville man was taken into custody at around 10 p.m. Tuesday on charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest, failure to identify as a fugitive from justice and on an outstanding warrant for parole violation.
It was one of seven arrests made Tuesday by officers with the Greenville Police Department, including two for theft, two for outstanding warrants and one for possession of marijuana.
The officers were also dispatched to 75 calls and filed 16 reports.
Deputies with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary of a residence on County Road 4411 between noon June 4 and 10 a.m. Monday.
Jewelry was reported stolen during a burglary of a residence on County Road 2617 between 8 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. Monday.
A weed eater was reported stolen during a burglary of a residence on County Road 2422 between midnight Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
An MP3 player and a shotgun were reported stolen during a burglary of a residence on North Shore between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
An assault was reported to have occurred at a residence on Dove Drive between 7 and 7:47 p.m. Tuesday.

— In State of Texas v. Thomas Sanchez Acosta, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving While Intoxicated/Second Offense. The defendant was sentenced to 365 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Cedric Earl Hines, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Criminal Trespass. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Larry Ray Lincks, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Failure to Identify/Fugitive from Justice. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Casey Lane Owens, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Possession of Marijuana and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Johnny Wayne Foster, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Chad Eric Ross, the defendant's probation for the offense of Driving While License Invalid was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 75 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. John David Sampson, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 50 days in jail.
— In State of Texas v. Farrell Dale Baker, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Driving While Intoxicated/Second Offense. The defendant was sentenced to 365 days in jail, probated for 24 months, fined $2,500 and ordered to pay court costs. The defendant was further ordered to complete 80 hours of community service, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, to complete DWI repeat offender education, and to attend a victim impact panel.
— In State of Texas v. Bertha Michelle Savage, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Criminal Trespass. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $400 and ordered to pay court costs. The defendant was further ordered to complete 30 hours of community service.
— In State of Texas v. Jason Glen Ewton, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Possession of Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $200 and ordered to pay court costs. The defendant was further ordered to complete 30 hours of community service, and to complete drug offender education.
— In State of Texas v. Dana Marie Delise, the defendant entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Criminal Trespass. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $400 and ordered to pay court costs. The defendant was further ordered to complete 30 hours of community service.
