Police make three arrests

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made three arrests Monday, two involving outstanding warrants and one for assault by contact.

Officers were also dispatched to 69 calls and filed 20 reports.

Hunt County Sheriff’s Deputies spent Monday responding to various burglary and criminal mischief charges.

A burglary was reported to have occurred between July 1 and 10 a.m. Monday at an office building on the intersection of Highways 429 and 751. The items stolen include two pet carriers, an antique saddle, and a horse riding helmet.

Another burglary was reported to have occurred between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Monday at a residence on FM 1569.

Three charges for criminal mischief were also reported Monday, one involving a mailbox valued at $700.



County Court-at-Law No. 2

- Petronilo Salazar Corpus pleaded guilty for disobeying a traffic control device. He was sentenced to 90 days of deferred community supervision with a $200 fine.

- Justin Dejuan Davis entered a plea of guilt for theft. He was sentenced to twelve months of deferred adjudication with a $100 fine.

- Angela Leslie Lummus pleaded guilty to a charge of theft. She was sentenced to twelve months deferred adjudication with a $100 fine.

- Kevin Toliver Phillips pleaded guilty for striking a highway fixture. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation and a $750 fine.

- Kevin Michael Spurgeon entered a plea of guilt for evading arrest. He was sentenced to 90 days of jail and a $100 fine.

- Edward Eugene Falk pleaded guilty for possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to 90 days of jail and a $100 fine.
