On the beats for July 28, 2009

Officers with the Greenville Police Department made 30 arrests during the past weekend, with several people taken into custody on drug-related charges and assault by bodily injury charges.

There were also two arrests made for theft charges.

Greenville officers were dispatched to 225 calls and filed 64 reports between Friday morning and Sunday night.

Hunt County Sheriff’s Deputies have also been busy these past few days responding to several burglary, assault, and drug-related charges.

Three men - ages 21, 21, and 26 of Wills Point - were arrested late Saturday night for the possession of between four and 200 grams of methamphetamine.

A theft of a Kubota was reported Saturday afternoon at a residence on FM 2101.

A push lawn mower and an air compressor were reported burglarized from a storage unit on County Road 3221 between July 1 and Saturday.

A harassment charge was reported Saturday afternoon at a residence on Lakeland Loop.

A terroristic threat was reported to have occurred at a residence on Deer Lane after 11 p.m. Saturday.

Two cases of criminal mischief were reported over the weekend, one involving a mailbox on County Road 2304 and the other damage to an 18 wheeler trailer off of Highway 276.

A burglary involving a firearm was reported Friday night at a residence on FM 1564.

A bird bath valued at $400 and home electronics valued at $700 were reportedly burglarized from a residence on Taylor Drive between noon July 17 and 11 a.m. Friday.
