Military reduction plan ill-conceived
According to a plan recently announced by the United States Defense Department, active-duty members of the Army would be reduced from 520,000 to 450,000-440,000; the Army National Guard would shrink from 355,000 to 335,000; and the Army Reserves would reduce their numbers from 205,000 to 195,000, for a total reduction of approximately 100,000 individuals.
