Billy New

Services for Billy Fred New, 81, of Grand Saline are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline with Bro. Homer Morgan and Bro. Bert Fite officiating. Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. New passed away Nov. 20, 2013, in Tyler. He was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Speaks to Jesse and Addie Gertrude Quattlebaum New.

He had lived in Grand Saline for the last 20 years were he was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He retired from E-Systems after 20 years of service.

Mr. New was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Merle Askew and Inez Boyd; and two brothers, Jessie New and Joseph New.

Survivors include his wife, Jean New of Grand Saline; son and daughter-in-law Marty Robin New and wife Terry of Canton; daughter and son-in-law Lisa New Thomas and husband David of Denton; brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Florence New of Bay City; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and B.J. Fansler of Grand Saline, Elizabeth and Kenneth Brown of Bay City, Virginia and Stony Burke of Lake Jackson and Nan and Marvin Rogers of Bay City; three grandchildren, Anthony Andrew New, Amy Fraim and husband Daron and Holly Tomlin and husband Cory; five great-grandchildren, Kaila, Nathan, Olivia, Emma and William; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Newburn, Jesse Harrell, Josh Harrell, Jeremy Harrell, Jason Herrell, Cory Tomlin and Daron Fraim.
