Herschel D. Moore, 89, of Greenville died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Combs will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born July 31, 1924, in Floyd, Texas, Herschel was the son of Frank Moore and Ethel Blakemore Moore. He married Edith Duncan Scott on May 16, 1981.
Herschel was retired from Automotive, Inc. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Navy in the Pacific. He was known for his love of antique cars and was a past member of AACA Car Club.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Moore of Greenville; step-daughters, Cindy Saucier and husband, Joe of Princeton and Brenda Lewis and husband, Craig of Wolfe City; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and sister Rogene Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Theda Beene Moore and brothers, Ernest and Herman Moore.
Pallbearers will be Jack Saucier, Jacob Saucier, Keith Doyle, Sonny Moore, Larry McElvy, Jeff Kesler, David Moore and James Rhodes.
