Rachelle Covette Mallard, 56, of Dallas died Sept. 9, 2013, at a Dallas hospital. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rapturea Better Way Christian Ministries, 2771 Fordham Road, in Dallas (75217), with Dr. Emmett J. Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Park in Dallas.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home in Greenville. A wake is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. at Rapturea Better Way Christian Ministries in Dallas.
She was born Dec. 22, 1956, in Los Angeles, Calif., daughter of Rev. Willie E. Mallard and Vernie Nell Allen. She worked as a cook.
Surviving are her father; her stepmother, Mary Mallard; a son, Gary Mallard of Dallas; two daughters, Tamica Mallard (Octavious) and Mirakle Mallard, all of Dallas; four brothers, Gregory Mallard (Mary) of Lancaster and Gerry Mallard, Tommy Lott and LaPaul Mallard, all of Dallas; two sisters, Ruthenia Wilcox (Artis) and Trenna Mallard Brown, all of Dallas; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother; grandmothers Mary D. Pruitt and Tessie B. Collins; a nephew, Cordee Mallard; and a grandfather, John L. Pruitt.
