Gary Dixon

Gary Dixon, 61, of Greenville passed away Oct. 28, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 3, 1952, in Red Hook, N.Y. He married Karen Quinn and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and the Gulf War.

He retired from the military with 22 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 17 in Greenville, where he had lived for five years. He was a pharmacy technician.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Dixon of Greenville; sons Eric Dixon of Greenville and Sean Dixon and wife Amanda of Colorado; a daughter, Tricia Dixon of Hawaii; brothers Mark Dixon and wife Karen of Virginia and Steven Hicks of Kentucky; sisters Susan Hicks, Linda McKinney and husband John, and Janet Hicks, all of New York; one grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Shirley Edick Hicks.

Family visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home.

The family thank Tammie Ross, Chaplain E.J., Richard Moore, and all Odyssey Hospice staff.
