Mary Lois Haney Freeman, 89, of Greenville passed away Oct. 8, 2013, at her residence.Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Mr. Randy Daw officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born Nov. 5, 1923, in Savannah, Okla., Mary Lois was the daughter of Granville and Oma May Jones Haney.
She married Herbert Freeman on Oct. 2, 1943, in Greenville; they celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2013 with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mary Lois was a faithful member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. She also served as a volunteer with the Pink Ladies at the Greenville hospital. She was a member of the local Rebekah Lodge and was recently awarded her 60-year pin at a dinner held in her honor.
Her survivors include her husband of Greenville; daughter Retha Kilgore and husband Jimmy of Greenville; son Jimmy Freeman of Garland; daughter-in-law Sandra Freeman of Greenville; grandchildren Jason Kilgore and wife Christina of Greenville, Jeremy Kilgore and wife Debra of Greenville, Brad Freeman and wife Julie of Ft. Worth, Keith Freeman and wife Stefani of McKinney, and Kendall Freeman and wife Cynthia of Bryan; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Farrell Freeman; an infant son, Elbert Owen Freeman; her parents; two brothers, Harry Haney and Farrell Haney; and one sister, Clovis Vititow.
Pallbearers will be Jason Kilgore, Jeremy Kilgore, Brad Freeman, Keith Freeman, Jim Hodo and Phil Rawlings.
The family request memorials be made to the Building Fund at Johnson Street Church of Christ.
