Beatrice May Nance, 82, of Greenville passed away Aug. 17, 2013. A graveside service is at 10 a.m. today at Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Greg Fields officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born Nov. 27, 1930, in Caddo, Okla., Bea was the daughter of Guy G. and Willie Alma (Green) Calhoun. She was preceded in death by Self May, her husband of 57 years. In 1993, she married Rev. James Nance, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was a homemaker and attended Westminister Presbyterian Church.
Her survivors include her niece, Carol Woodworth of Greenville; nephews Bill Smith and wife Julia of San Antonio, Roger Smith of Greenville, David Smith and wife Jean of Arlington, and Jackie Smith and wife Linda of Lake Fork; great-nieces Tracey Fields and husband Greg and their children, Abby, Ellie, Lucy, Zoe and Amos, Lisa Smith-Brooke and husband Adrian of Austin and Tammy Middleton of Missouri; great-nephew Kyle Goen and wife Amy and their children, Jordan, Peyton, and Evan of Brussells, Belgium; stepdaughter Elizabeth Bowers and husband Bobby of Greenville; stepson Willie “Corky” Nance and wife Carlene of San Antonio; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; several siblings and an infant son, Freddie Dewayne May.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews Bill Smith, Roger Smith, David Smith, and Jackie Smith, great-nephew Kyle Goen, and friend Calvin Durling.
