Eloy James “Jim” Chavez passed away at home March 24, 2014, after a short illness.
He was born Oct. 19, 1955 in Trinidad, Colo., and raised in Kim, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avedonia and Eloy Chavez; brothers Joe Chavez and Victor Chavez; and sisters Aurora Chavez and Victoria Chavez.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Chavez of Lone Oak; sister Fran Schanck of Washington; brother Daniel Chavez and wife Flora Chavez of Colorado; son Shane Chavez and wife Virg Chavez of Colorado; grandson James Chavez of Colorado and granddaughter Lindsey Chavez of Colorado; son Shawn Chavez and partner Ramon Smart of Dallas; son John Garner of Oregon; daughter Carla Carpenter and Scott Carpenter; grandson John T. Carpenter of Texas; granddaughter Lola (Lanie Blue Eyes) Carpenter of Texas; granddaughter Katilyn Girl Carpenter of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Eloy James “Jim” Chavez was loved by all friends and family, and he will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
