Mamie Lee “Boots” Morgan, 77, of Cumby passed away at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas on Nov. 3, 2013.
She was born in Chicota, Lamar County, Texas, Oct. 7, 1936, the daughter of Doyle Sidney and Letia Mae Melton Fowler. She married Don Wendell Morgan in Morton on June 30, 1956; he survives.
Mrs. Morgan was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was also a founding member of Cornerstone Church in Cumby.
She is also survived by a son, Michael Don Morgan and wife Angela; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Erin and Kaelyn Morgan, all of Cumby; a sister, Peggy Ann Cook-Clark and husband Edward, also of Cumby; and two brothers, Doyle Ray Fowler and wife Linda and Billy James “Jay” Fowler and wife Joyce, all of Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service and visitation will be Saturday at Cornerstone Church in Cumby. The memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. with a time of reflection and visitation. Brother Richard Deteau will give a eulogy at 11 a.m., and Brother Jim Moore will give a eulogy at 1 p.m. The family will continue to accept visitors until 2 p.m.
