Barbara Pier

WOLFE CITY — Barbara Jean Pier, 61, of Wolfe City died at her home March 6, 2013, after a lengthy battle with cancer. 

She was born Feb. 4, 1952, in Pampa to Willis Ray Derryberry and Jessie Nell Hicks. She married Billy Dale Pier on Oct. 10, 1986, in Greenville. 

Mrs. Pier was a member of First United Methodist Church of Wolfe City. She was a seamstress and a beautician for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Billy Pier; son Cody Ray Glenn (Heather) of Greenville; daughter Brooke Jasmine Pier of Wolfe City; two grandchildren, Danny Ray Glenn and Eve Marie Glenn; four siblings, Sherry Ann Bratton (Gary), Larry Don Derryberry (Lauri), Sandra Jo Duncan (Sammy) and Billy Charles Childress, all of Greenville; a special aunt and uncle, Sue and Joe Hicks of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Danny Ray Derryberry (1966).

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City. 

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Wolfe City with Dr. Ed Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Curtis Hicks, Joe Hicks, Cory McElwrath, Sammy Duncan, Johnny Dotson, and Jared Duncan serving as pallbearers.
