Marlin P. Crawford, 86, of Cash, passed away on April 27, 2013.
He was born in Dry Creek, Texas, on March 23, 1927, to Joseph and Virgie Crawford. He was raised in the Dry Creek area with three brothers and four sisters. He joined the Army in 1945 and was stationed in Japan after the bombing of Nagasaki. He was honorably discharged after the war and settled in Dallas. He worked for Massey Ferguson Tractor Co as a service manager for 27 years. He opened Crawford Tractor Repair in Cash after building a new home there in 1979. Marlin and his wife Dorthey have five children.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorthey; sons, Roger and wife Patsy of Sulphur Springs and Robert and wife Gayle of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Sandra Panter and husband Lesley of Rowlett, Marian Silva and husband Carlos of Rockwall and Kimberly Anderson and husband Kent of Garland; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Marlin is preceded in death by his parents and son David Presley Crawford.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, with interment immediately to follow at Simmons Cemetery in Greenville.
